Morning and Afternoon Workshops Series

The programme has been designed to offer a series of workshops.

Workshops will run in the morning and again in the afternoon, to give you the opportunity to attend two workshops you think will be most useful to you.

WS1:  Assessing the new Assessor & Quality (Verifier) qualifications - Holistic approaches based on learner activities & their performance

This workshop will explore how these qualifications will need to be delivered and the implications for those involved in providing the training and assessment required to ensure achievement of these QCF qualifications.

WS2:  Creating and Assessing Written Assignments

This workshop will explore the concepts of assessment for learning and assessment of learning, focusing on how written summative assessments enable learners to demonstrate and apply their learning.

Linda Chorley - Consultant

WS3:  Devising QCF Assessment Strategies

Many qualifications are moving to the QCF Format.  This workshop covers how providers can ensure that rigor and progress are maintained especially in the light of incremental or holistic approaches to the qualifications.

Suzi Gray - National Adviser, Community & Society Sector, NI, City & Guilds

WS4:  Computer Based Assessment of Knowledge and Skills  

This workshop will:

  • Provide an introduction to computer based assessment.
  • Enable participants to make informed choices and contribute to the decision making process.

Understand when computer based assessment is appropriate and when other methods may be more suitable or used as a supplement.
