City & Guilds qualifications and learning support develop both knowledge and practical skills at all levels in an unrivalled choice of industries, from agriculture to engineering, hairdressing to motor vehicle maintenance and IT to tourism. Assessment is based on any combination of examinations, projects or coursework, and we work hard to offer our learners the most innovative methods of assessment to meet their needs. Since 2002 we have offered online assessment, which means that candidates can be tested 24 hours a day, seven days a week, wherever there is a networked computer. Over three million tests have been taken on our global online assessment (GOLA) system.

Our qualifications and services are developed with the help of experts in relevant industries, and many are offered in partnership with industry bodies. Increasingly we work directly with large employers, often to accredit their in-house training through City & Guilds for Business, our consultancy arm. Our portfolio of customers includes P&O Ferries, McDonald’s, e-on, Honda, London Underground, Shell, Tesco, B&Q and Orange Retail.
